Garden Club helps create Butterfly Memorial Garden

Lower Cape Fear’s Butterfly Memorial Garden, at its Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville, was dedicated Saturday, May 6, during its annual Bountiful Life Tile Ceremony. The Butterfly Memorial Garden is the first memorial garden at the facility. Thanks to a generous financial gift and many volunteer hours by the Whiteville Garden Club, the garden will offer families a place of solace and remembrance.

Whiteville Garden Club, formed in 1939, is a long-time supporter and advocate of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, a local nonprofit hospice and palliative care provider. The club provides community members with education in the art of gardening and horticulture. Members encourage environmental improvement through civic development, beautification, restoration and protection and conservation of natural resources.
