“To honor their many contributions to the health of communities nationwide,” Columbus Regional Healthcare System is recognizing its nurse practitioners during Nurse Practitioner Week (Nov. 13 to Nov. 19), according to a hospital press release.

“Since the nurse practitioner role began more than 50 years ago,” said American Association of Nurse Practitioners President April N. Kapu, these health care providers “have risen to meet each challenge” — including the COVID-19 pandemic, where they served “on the front lines,” the press release added, by “ensuring patients have access to lifesaving vaccinations, as well as primary, acute long-term and specialty care.”
